The mountains, the river and our avocados
Our estate
Our farm is located in Canillas de Aceituno, in a privileged enclave where nature sets the pace and defines the character of each fruit. Nestled in the foothills of the Tejeda and Almijara mountains and bordered by the Bermuza River, it enjoys a unique microclimate: slightly cooler nights, mild days and a higher altitude than the tropical coast or the Vélez-Málaga valley.
These conditions cause the avocados to grow more slowly, accumulating flavour, texture and a very special quality.
A legacy born from the earth
Roots and living tradition
Our farm has been the centre of our family's life and work for generations. Long before the arrival of avocados, these lands were already home to olive, almond, grape and orange trees, fruit trees that continue to enrich our agricultural landscape. This living tradition has not only fed our family for decades, but has also passed on to us the value of the land and the knowledge to maintain a naturally fertile and balanced ecosystem. It is this deep respect for our roots that ensures the flavour and quality of every avocado we harvest today.
The first avocados in the area
A courageous step
In the 1990s, our grandfather Antonio decided to take a step that, at the time, seemed daring: start growing avocados. He was one of the first farmers in the area to take a chance on this fruit, sensing that the climate and altitude of our land could produce a different kind of avocado, full of character.
That change marked a turning point. Little by little, avocados began to become part of the landscape, coexisting with other crops and proving that this mountain range could also produce top-quality products.
A farm that evolves without losing its soul
Present and future
Today, Antonio's grandson, Emérito, continues the family legacy on the farm. He maintains traditional crops because they are a living part of the history and natural balance of this land, while expanding the area dedicated to avocados, guided by a vision of the future that honours origin, tradition and authenticity: to offer genuine, high-quality avocados in markets where they are not grown.
Our project combines tradition with cultivation using modern techniques, sustainability and responsible land management. Thanks to this combination, we achieve a product of excellence, with guaranteed origin, which we bring to those who value traceability and authenticity.
From Malaga to Switzerland
Taking our land further afield
Beatriz, Emérito's sister, saw from Switzerland that the market did not offer an avocado comparable in taste or authenticity. Together with her husband Fabián, she decided to bring the avocados directly from the family farm, avoiding long transatlantic journeys and ensuring that each fruit arrives from tree to table, with all the creaminess, aroma and quality that define our land.
Thus, what began as a family vision has become an international project: sharing a piece of Malaga with Swiss tables that had never before tasted a genuine avocado, with guaranteed origin, tradition and quality.
Traditional techniques and environmentally friendly 100%
Responsible cultivation
On our farm, we practise sustainable agriculture. traditional, based on knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation.
We only use organic products and we do not apply no pesticides whatsoever, protecting both the land and the health of those who will enjoy our fruits.
We prioritise natural methods that respect the soil and crop cycles, allowing each tree to grow in harmony with its environment. The result is an authentic, clean product with an extraordinary flavour.
Our trees are irrigated with water from the Bermuza River, which runs through our estate, as well as with rainwater, which we collect and store in a reservoir for use during the months when water is less available. In this way, we work in harmony with nature and with respect for water. This promotes uniform and balanced growth. The result is Malaga avocados, exceptional in flavour and with the character of our land.
